| |
 |
| Blessed with some of the most amazing scenery in the country, Steuben County is full of one day road trips that will leave you breathless in more ways than one. Two day trips between 27 and 54 miles in length giving you a glimpse of the Lake Country, Western Steuben's Amish farmland and everything in between! Arrival day will provide for a mid day check-in at the Comfort Inn, Hornell. After you've settled in, take a leisurely ride around town or better yet, make the quick trip to Alfred Station (20 miles round trip) to check out the “The Bicycle Man” , our local bike shop which carries the largest selection of recumbent bicycles in the northeast. Enjoy the pool on your return to the hotel, dinner is on your own at your leisure. Start day 2 with a deluxe continental breakfast then head out for your first day in Western Steuben County. Route #7 (40 miles) will take you south to Jasper, over the hill to Greenwood, out the flats to Canisteo and back to Hornell. Rolling hills and farm land will fill your day and the view from the top of a couple of these hills is just amazing. Dinner this evening is on our own with a variety of places to choose from. Tonight, drive to Alfred and spend some time gazing at the stars from the Stull Observatory. On day 3 we suggest trail #8 which is a 47 mile ride to Canisteo, up the gulch and over the hill to Kanona, then back to Hornell by way of Howard. Again, you’ll witness some amazing views and some awesome farms and farmland. Dinner this evening is included in your package at Club 57. You'll be ready for this, enjoy great food while keeping up with the current sports action on one of the several TV’s. Your package includes: 3 nights at the Comfort Inn, Hornell with deluxe continental breakfast; a Finger Lakes Themed gift basket; Dinner at Club 57 and admission to The Stull Observatory.
